Testimonials

Here's what people are saying….

I received my copy of your book yesterday and read most of it last night!  There are lime green flags sticking out all over the place!  I have been in sales for over 20 years, have been trained by the best of companies (Procter & Gamble) and I still picked up some terrifically fun and innovative ideas…so if anyone says they can’t find new ideas in this book – they obviously have NOT read it! Thanks for the great book!!!

I have been in the public relations industry for 10 years and consider myself an expert at both establishing and building relationships. I bought the book 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door because I was familiar with Kathleen and her background. I have recommended the book to every sales person I know including my husband who owns and operates a point of sale dealership. The ideas in the book are so corny but that is the beauty behind the book - its simplicity and trust me the ideas work. I suggested an idea from # 34 to a client and they are now back in business.

Industries are constantly looking for new ideas and resources to attract and retain business. As a Vice President, I have a great interest in the development and growth of our credit union.  In fact I was so impressed with the new book entitled 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door that we ordered a copy for each of our branch managers.  The branch manager’s response was overwhelming.  They were very complimentary to the context of the book and excited to receive such a vast resource of marketing ideas.  We would recommend purchasing the book plus. You would truly benefit from such an investment.

My copy of 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door has a home on the left corner of my office desk.  Not only is this book entertaining and informative, but it is a great conversation piece for discussing strategies for stimulating sales.  Recently, one of my managers called and voiced that he had run into a customer that had an unpleasant experience with us years ago!

For that reason, this customer had no intention of talking to us or wanting to do business with us now.  I advised the manager to write a personal note explaining we are an entirely different company today, much larger than we were 10 years ago and with different leaders at the helm.  In addition, I told him about the great foot tip and explained how he could send the foot with a note and simply explain how we would love another chance to get our "foot in the door.

That day I went to a craft store and bought a dozen wooden feet.  I have painted them flesh-colored with polished nails.  They are good to go for the next opportunity for this great idea.

Another manager stopped by and asked if he could peruse the contents of the book.  Certainly, I replied.  After minutes he exclaimed, This is fantastic!  How do I get one of these?  He wrote down the web site and called me a few days later stating, I got my book and I am signed up for the weekly foot in the door tips!  I can't wait to start using these with my sales representatives.

This book is full of practical, heart-warming, attention-getting ideas to create an opportunity to WOW your customer and show them that you are different from all the rest.  This is a golden nugget now in our sales library.  I have sales reps buying screwdrivers, lifesavers, flat tires, thyme, wooden feet...you've got to own your own copy to see how your can put all of these and more to great use for better sales and increased profitability!

I was pleasantly surprised reading 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door.  It had some insightful ideas we will definitely be using in our business.  I think many companies think they have to spend a lot of money on marketing where this booked enforces that it's really the little things that "get your foot in the door.  I was so impressed that I am requiring my sales staff to read it and we are getting together to discuss how we can implement some of these ideas into our marketing campaigns.  Great job!

I work in client services for a technology company and I have recently taken on responsibilities as an account manager.

I learned two important sales concepts that are excellent practices for customer service as well: follow up and real estate.

The idea of follow up for me had always meant nagging someone. During the seminar, I learned differently. It's really thoughtful consideration to call someone back. If I were to omit this step, I could make the mistake of discounting a person's interest which is much worse than potentially nagging someone.

As for real estate, I hadn't heard of it before, but now I know the importance of that term. It has opened up my thoughts to sending out collateral that perhaps I wasn't sure would be worth my time because of small possibility of response. Now I know that repetitive contact earns real estate in clients' minds, which is incredibly invaluable in forming long lasting relationships with them.”
Sincerely,
Stephani Nichols

I thought the book was so good, I bought three more to give to my clients for Christmas.  Who couldn't get at least one good idea from your book that will pay them many times the $20 cost?

Many of the world’s greatest ideas have been around for a long time and sometimes it takes someone to put them in a format that is easy and entertaining to read.  This book should be opened and utilized during the business planning phase of new and existing businesses.

I am also a consumer and as I read some of the 101 Ways I found myself thinking of the business’s that I had received something from that included their name.  A good pen is always nice.  And who doesn’t need a pad of paper or sticky notes?  Besides, you always walk away thinking you got a bit of a special deal or consideration, not to mention, if you are a good client you really do expect your vendor to give a couple of freebies.

Other ideas such as the Elevator Speech caused me to rethink how I would fare in those situations.  Knowledge of what you’re doing and enthusiasm about it are deal breakers if not done well.

I know your book is worth much more than the $20 I paid. Thanks, you really do practice what you preach.  I’m not surprised at your success.

SEMINAR

Kathleen Gage's seminar was a real eye opener.  We recognized the things we were doing correctly and the things we needed to improve upon.  After attending her seminar we signed up four new clients in as many weeks!  If you need inspiration, motivation, or just some fresh ideas, Kathleen's seminar is a must! -

When I heard that Kathleen Gage and Lori Giovannoni had finished their book 101 Ways to Get Your Foot in the Door, I pre – ordered 10 books so that no one in our sales, marketing or retail operations would ever be too far away from a copy of it.  I have seen Kathleen and Lori in action at a seminar and left with writer’s cramp trying to jot down every new idea they were throwing at us. This book captures the great energy and creative generosity that Kathleen and Lori are known for, presenting the reader with plenty of unique and proven approaches.  I plan on using their ideas before our competitors do!

The seminar was full of good ideas -- also your suggestion that I hold a free seminar myself got me thinking about new ways to promote my French school and travel program. The energy of the seminar was impressive, and the many tips were very useful. I would recommend this seminar to anyone who wants to start a business or improve the business they have.
